Addiction To Answers

I've been watching a lot of documentaries lately on crop circles. Many people would dismiss them as man made. And up until kind of recently, I was more neutral on the subject. I didn't think that they were man made but I wasn't dismissing it. I also did not think they were paranormal but I also was not dismissing that either. I really didn't know much about them. I watched a documentary on them a while back that triggered my fascination in the subject.  I never realized the details that experts look at to determine "authentic" ones versus ones that are "inauthentic."  Needless to say I am now fascinated with the subject and believe there are obvious unanswered questions there that can be looked at.

So why is the mainstream so quick to dismiss these occurrences and label them as fake, or man made?  Especially after someone (or some people) came forward and said all of them have been man made, by them.  This got me thinking, without getting into politics or conspiracy theories, why are we as a society so quick to accept an answer to a question, regardless of how credible that answer is per the research done?  Why are we so quick to say that which we cannot prove, must not be real?  Why do we seem so content with accepting an answer to something unknown like this?  Again, without getting into conspiracies...

We are addicted to answers. We are addicted to answers that make sense to our minds. Ones that do not defy logic, answers that are logical.  Science has even seemed to drift from studying the unknown to studying that which can be logically proven. If it cannot or seems like finding proof would be a long shot, the subject is dismissed and even sometimes pegged as "fake."  We are uncomfortable with the unknown.

This method of thinking however, severely diminishes our potential for understanding the world, the universe. So once again we find ourselves as our own worst enemy. We want answers so we can better understand our universe, but we are uncomfortable with the unknown, so we accept any answers given that "make sense" logically and then move on with our lives thinking that we have a greater understanding of the world around us.

The person who knows nothing knows everything.

Ask questions. Doubt. Be at peace with the unknown. Stop limiting yourself. Open your mind to all of the possibilities the universe gives us. Love the unknown. Find the joy and the thrill in it. Remember that your perception is your reality. Your mind wants to understand, but it does not need to understand.  Some answers can only be found within.

Take a break from answers, so that you can find them.

The Future Is Now

I started watching a documentary tonight and the phrase "the future is now" popped up. And I started to think about it. In my opinion, the majority of the time that this quote is used is around current technologies and new discoveries. But I saw a deeper meaning there this time. A meaning that I had already known and already understood, but had never interpreted the quote to say what I now see it as.  I used to view it in some kind of vanitorial way, a marketing phrase, superficial.  But now when I see it, I'll see the deeper meaning to it that most people miss.

The future does not exist. The only moment in the illusion of time is the present moment. That's all that ever was and that's all that ever will be.  The notion that time is linear is a figment of the mind. Time does not stretch from "left to right" in a linear fashion.  Time is a tool that we use to understand and use the physical world that surrounds us.  Anything that happens in the so called future starts now. In this moment. The future is NOW!  Have you ever seen or read something about sequences of events?  Of how one decision you make now affects what will happen next, and so on and so forth?  This is why we need not to focus and get anxious for what has yet to come, it has not come forth yet.  If we spend our now in the future our future will consist of spending time in the future. And the cycle will continue.

This, I have known for a while.  But I will no longer view "the future is now" in the same way that I had before when I see it.

Your future is now. Are you paying attention to what the present moment is giving you?  Do you fully embrace each moment as it is passing?  Or do you spend your moments thinking about what comes next?  What comes next? will be What comes next?  What kind of life are you creating for yourself if you are creating What comes next?

If you are spending the now in the future, you're likely uncomfortable with the unknown. So, you create more unknown for yourself because you're spending your present in that which is unknown - the future!  You are uncomfortable with the unknown, so you spend your present in the future to ease your mind about that unknown but then what happens is that you end up in a perpetual state of "the unknown" because you end up in a constant state of being in the future versus the now!  Talk about being your own worst enemy!

Be now. Be present.  Nothing else exists but. The future is now, do you see it the way I see it NOW?

It's All Your Fault

Welcome to the par-tay!

You would think that, with the addiction humanity has with control, each individual would first place blame on the self before blaming someone else. But this is not the case. Why, in a world where we try and control outcomes in our lives would we constantly place our focus on outside of our own selves? How can we think that we have control over that which we have no control over and we know we don't have control over outside circumstances but yet we must think we have control over what we don't have control over otherwise, why would we be constantly putting blame on the external?

We know we don't have control over anything but ourselves. We have a constant want to control our lives. But yet we do the thing that completely makes us lose our power! Talk about insanity!

This needs another paragraph because of how insane it actually really is! We want to dictate every second of our lives, but yet we are always so quick to give that power of control away! And, depending on the circumstances, it is more socially acceptable to give our power away rather than take responsibility ourselves. The insane is viewed as sane and the sane is viewed as insane!

Your power comes from within, not from without. It does not come from other people nor outside circumstances. Every time you look outside of yourself for blame you are giving your own power away, the power only you have to change it. Remember this next time you think about placing "the blame" on something or someone outside of your own self. You want control? You got it. But in order to use this power you must first choose responsibility. You must own your circumstance and place "the blame" on self. Find your own power, find the only kind of "control" that you actually do have and start becoming sane!

What makes more sense:

I want control but the only thing I do have control over is myself, so I'm going to place "the blame" on everything outside of myself, take zero responsibility for it, and just sit and complain and be miserable.

Or

I want control but the only thing I do have control over is myself, so I am going to place "the blame" on self, I'm going to take responsibility for my own circumstances, and work towards changing it.

Get your power back. Your emotions, your life circumstances, your physical state, anything that you experience can all be connected back to you.

You are the one experiencing it. Only you can change it. But you can't change it if you don't own it.

Control Patrol (BEE DO BEE DO 🚨)

Spirituality is about, in part, allowing the ebbs and flows of your journey in life to pass through you with ease, joy, and beauty and being your own guide through this path you call life. Allowing the natural order of the universe to propel you in the right direction whether it be an event seemingly choreographed by the universe in and of itself or by the universe using your human self as a vehicle in this natural order.  There is good, happy, and bright.  There is also sad, bad, and dark.  Dark cannot exist without light and light cannot exist without dark. The light is joyous, we love those moments. The dark on the other hand, not so much. But what if I told you that this dark does not have to seem so bad?  After all, there is always good with the bad right?

We hate this darkness so much that we start to try and control our lives, and we sometimes believe that we have absolute control. Like a teenager holding the remote of his or her favorite video game.  We are the teenager and the game is our life. Absolute control.  But this isn't the case is it?  Although we tend to act at times like we do have absolute control we, at some level, do have the recognition that this control is not absolute as in our video game example. So why do we continue to do it?  Our minds think that we have control.

When we do certain things to prevent something from happening, like the purchase of a security system to prevent a break in, we are attempting to control a situation. In that case, we are trying to control whether or not someone breaks into our store, or home.  Even with this exertion of control, we do often still have the realization that there is a possibility that we may still have a break in.  Others may gain an expectation of never having a break in.

Our wonderful store or humble abode, security system and all, gets broken into. OH NO!!  What now?  What kinds of thoughts will be roaming around in our noggin now?  Probably some negative ones, I suppose.  I mean, what good could come out of this right?  I can tell you. Maybe your security camera caught the face of someone who was on the run for a more serious crime and ended up being caught because of your break in?  Maybe this break in caused you to move your store or your home to a different area and your life was happier after the fact, maybe business was booming due to the move. You know what they say, location, location, location!  Seldomly do we see the good in the bad. Seldomly do we ever see the experiences that we have in our life each make up it's own puzzle piece in our journey that fit perfectly together and make a beautiful picture.  Expand your perceptions.

Deeper than this kind of control is mind control.  Not the kind of mind control you see in sci-fi movies with the head contraption and all.  Do we have control of our thoughts, sure, but that control over our thoughts is a part of nature, and therefore makes it out of our control.  I could tell myself that I am going to tell 3 people each day that I love them in order to help me make me feel better. I have direct control of the thought and any actions I take, but the fact that I have the thought in the first place is out of my control. Even a thought about the thought is out of my control!

This is not to say that we should all take ultimate risks. But it is to say that if you are floating on a river, no matter which direction you try and swim (control), the river (aka life, nature) will always end up eventually taking you exactly where you need to be and when you need to be there.

Even what we control is out of our control. Control in itself is a part of the natural order of the universe. Every thought you think or don't think, every action that you take or don't take, in the end, nature/god/the universe controls control.

In each and every imperfectly perfect moment of your life you are always, and will forever be, in the right place at the right time.  Flow with the river of life, not against it.
